Privacy
Your saved network details belong to you. Wi-Fi Companion keeps your private notebook on your iPhone and does not upload it to our catalogue service.

Private networks
Names, network names (SSIDs), passwords and security choices that you save in your private notebook are stored in this app's device-only iOS Keychain. They are not included in public catalogue downloads, shared with other customers, uploaded to our servers or synchronised through iCloud.
You can remove a saved network in the app. Device-only storage does not provide a backup for a replacement phone. Removing the app is not a substitute for removing entries first: iOS Keychain items can remain after an app is uninstalled.
If you ask iOS to join a network, iOS receives the network configuration and may remember it. Removing a notebook entry does not remove a Wi-Fi configuration remembered by iOS. Manage those networks in Settings > Wi-Fi.
Location and maps
Location access is optional. The app uses your location on your device to find nearby catalogue entries and, when supported by iOS, help confirm the network you asked to join. The catalogue service does not receive your coordinates or private network details.
Online maps and destination searches use Apple MapKit. Apple processes those requests under its own privacy terms. You can manage location permission in iPhone Settings.
Complete downloaded regions use MapLibre and include their map, labels and public hotspot details on your device. Opening a downloaded region does not need a map-provider request. Online coverage previews, external websites and online directions still need a connection.
Catalogue and map downloads
The app requests public catalogue and map-region files over HTTPS. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and technical request information to deliver files and protect its service. We do not add an account identifier, private notebook data or your coordinates to these requests. A map-region request identifies the region being downloaded.
The website's live map loads base-map tiles, labels and icons from OpenFreeMap, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver them. Public Wi-Fi places and the city search list are served with the website itself. If you choose Use my location, your browser gives the page your position on your device to centre the map; it is not sent to us. We do not operate advertising, tracking cookies or application request logging for the catalogue service or website. Cloudflare may process operational and security information under its platform policies. Public source records include source attribution and dates; they are not customer submissions. Subscription analytics are described below.
Purchases and external providers
Apple handles subscription payments and provides the app with purchase and subscription status through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card details. The app uses verified Apple purchase information to enable paid features.
Our subscription integration uses RevenueCat for purchase-history analytics and subscription support. It processes an anonymous app identifier, transaction and subscription information, and technical information such as app, device and operating-system versions, storefront and locale. Network requests also disclose an IP address to the service. We do not send private notebook entries, Wi-Fi passwords, location coordinates or support email addresses as RevenueCat customer attributes.
Advertising attribution and optional SDK diagnostics are not enabled. The SDK can record the device's existing tracking-consent status without requesting tracking permission. A RevenueCat reporting failure does not remove access granted by a verified Apple purchase.
Roaming setup opens the selected provider's website. Your interaction with that provider, including sign-in and profile installation, is covered by the provider's terms. We do not receive your provider password or roaming credentials.
Support and your choices
There is no Wi-Fi Companion account to create or delete. You control private notebook entries on your device and can revoke location permission in Settings.
You can send a support request or report a bug from the app. We store the subject, message and any reply email you choose to provide in our private Cloudflare-hosted support queue. If you turn on app details, your app version, build and iOS version are included to help investigate the issue.
The support form does not automatically include saved network names, passwords, location or diagnostic logs. Support requests are not automatically linked to RevenueCat customer identifiers. Do not type Wi-Fi passwords or other credentials into your message.
Authorised support operators can read your request. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send. We retain support records while needed to handle the request and any applicable record-keeping obligations. Contact team@torpenhow.ai to ask about your support information or this policy.
